I used to think the little one in the back without a comb or wattle was a runt. Now I think she's the only girl. Opinions? They're nine week old production reds.

Yeah---is she really that much smaller than the boys? That's not a normal gender thing, for the female to be that much smaller. She may be a bantam, a better pic with some scale is good. Bantams generally mature at 2lbs or less, depending on the breed, so that gives you some idea.

A bantam? Ack. This is getting worse and worse. I'll try and get a better picture of her today, but she's less than half the size of the others. Thanks for the feedback!

Here are a few more pictures of McNugget. Bantam?

She's peeking up in the back in this one.

I see three new pictures? She looks a lot smaller in the second two than the first one. RIR and NHR do come in bantam, makes you wonder if there is anything that says production reds have to be standards ...

Okay, got them now! Stupid Internet Explorer........

In that first pic she really looks too big to be a bantam. She may just be a runty bird.

She's closer to the camera in the first. That picture is a little misleading. The other two show the size ratio better. Thanks for the feedback!
