The wheelbarrow dust bath area I stuck under the coop. I am not sure they like it there as they want to bathe in the sun, but it is nice to have it where I don't step on it!

I started with just this one feeder/waterer area, but later I added another tube to the other side. I have two young chickens that are harassed if they go to eat.

My husband remembered to put the fake eggs in and the chickens knew right where to put their eggs! Or at least the two chickens that are still laying through their molting.

Nice job!!! I love it.

Your roof looks a little flat for snow load. I did the same thing. When I made my coop bigger I didn't increase the angle of my roof so I will be taking heavy snow off the roof for sure this winter.

I wouldn't worry too much about rounding the roost bar. My girls are on a 2x4 on its side and do fine. Plus in the cold if their feet are flatter they can warm their entire foot with their feathers. If the curve around too much on a round bar I worry that the tips of their feet will freeze. Not sure if this is true or not but just a thought.

Great Job!

I have this problem that all my doors seem to be tight on the hinges. So the door or window wants to be partly open. Any ideas?

Try using a barrel lock to secure it down so the wind wont take it and rip out your hinges.

Wow! You guys did a great job. It looks very well thought out and very nicely built. My husband can't ever envision anything at all. We get into all kind of battles because of this. He hired a couple of guys to build me my new coop. It is money we weren't planning to spend, but getting a divorce would cost a lot too! Here is a link to my build if you care to look. Thanks for sharing with us.

Do you have a build thread showing the doors?
Please link it here and I'll go take a look(instead of hijacking this thread).

@aart Huh???? I was quoting and answering HER question not asking one myself. Or am I misunderstanding you? I know I havent been around in a while but I think I did the whole "quote" thing correctly, maybe not.
