We started with an old three sided shed that was on the property - my husband built it for storage about 5 years ago. The shed is 12 foot deep and 14 foot wide. We have added an additional 16 foot to the length. Making it a total of 28x14. We live in south Georgia and it does not get cold enough here to worry about closing in the shed to make a full 4 sided coop. We have lots left to do but we have made good progress. It should all be done by next weekend!
Don't mind the mess all around it we are still working! This is the side view. You can see that we did not bury the hardware cloth hanging off the bottom. We are going to put railroad ties on top of the overhanging cloth and then use rebar to make sure the ties stay in place. Show me a raccoon that can move a railroad tie and pull up 3 foot of rebar!

Happy chickens! They are 4 weeks old now and this is their FIRST time out of the brooder. They were a little freaked out. I only got to leave them out a few minutes and then I had to put them back in the brooder for the night. There are 16 chickens and I think that they are going to have enough room in this coop. At least I hope so! My husband is not going to build another one!
