I have read about ducks for years and I believe this is a prolapse but don’t know what to do. Can my baby girl be saved? I don’t have money for a vet. Please help! Thanks in advance

Get her in a tub of luke warm water and gently feel to make sure there isn't an egg inside that bulge if there is then you can help her get it out by massaging the prolapse. You can use some kind of lubricant to help get the egg out too. Afterward you'll need to slather either preparation H or coconut oil or KY jelly, Honey and try to gently push it back inside. You may have to keep doing this till it goes in and stays. Keep her inside in a darkened place a large box o dog crate will work but darkened so it will help stop another egg from starting. You have to keep this tissue clean and moist so it doesn't dry out. Let us know if you feel an egg.

You need to do all you can to help her because even with all I posted you can still lose her so do everything you can.

Ok we have her in the tub. She was leaking some goo out carrying her to the tub. So the bulge has to be pushed back in? I don’t want to hurt her

We didn’t feel an egg.

We’ve tried three times and it pops out. Hubby is holding it in but when he lets go it keeps popping out. What else can we do

Try putting her in cold water When my dachshund has a penis prolapse I panicked and put him in cold water and it shrunk enough to go in . I haven’t ever had to deal with this issue but most that have taken their ducks to the vet the vet puts a stitch or 2 to hold it in. All you can do is keep trying. Do you know anyone in the medical community that could help you out with stitches?

We tried one more time and pushed it up farther and it stayed. We weren’t sure how far to push without really hurting her. She pooped shortly after and it popped back out right away but went back in. She stayed in for a little while today but she does better with her mate. Bedtime tonight she looked good. So hopefully this works. She’s 4 years old and sweet as can be. Kudos to hubby for doing something he didn’t want to do on his Sunday. Thanks y’all for your help
