Prolapse? Help!

I’m glad she’s much better today. I must’ve pushed prolapse in twice a day for about a week. But if for some reason it comes out and you can’t get it to stay in there are a lot of chicken sling instructions online to keep it where it needs to be. But I would suggest maybe trying to prevent her from laying for a couple days to make sure it stays put

We are going on vacation for 10 days in a few weeks. Just hope my babies will be ok while we are gone. I’ve had ducks for 4 years. We’ve gotten pretty lucky. Elsa, the one with the prolapse, was attacked by a pit ball and Sage was attacked by a fox. Thankful they are both ok. Have a great day!

Wow. Sounds like they’ve Been through quite a bit. Glad everything turned out OK and I hope things keep on the up and up. Enjoy your vacation

I have had 2 prolapses with my ducks. 1 prolapse had a gas bubble that looks like your picture. 600.00 vet visit and she was saved.
Another one was a vet visit to a different vet who charged the same amount but didnt do an x-ray and killed the duck by not getting out the big egg inside. She was egg bound and hemmoraged. If you dont have enough money for a vet, be prepared to start chopping your ducks heads off. Having chickens and ducks is the same as having a dog or cat. If you dont have money for a vet you have to do mercy killings.

Thank you Casportpony. I have been running a waterfowl rescue and sanctuary for a little over 2 years now and have had 4 deaths. 3 of them due to incompetent vet care or not enough vet care due to lack of funds. We are working on getting our non profit paperwork through so that we can get donations for vet bills.
