Prolapse Phallus- 4 1/2 year old Drake

So I gave him the snip. there was only a drop of blood and I sealed it with some salves and oils. It popped back out yesterday evening, I pushed it back in and checked him this morning, still in. This afternoon it was popped out again (not a lot, just the tip. I cut it just below the constriction as the video on line I got of a vet doing it showed her leaving about a quarter inch of dead stuff saying the rest of the penis was not infected and the rest of the dead stuff would come off on its own.) So I tucked it back in and gave him early parole to be with his flock.
Is this normal? There's no infection that I can see I gave him antibiotics to stave off infection after the cut. There's just a hard black crust over healthy tissue with blood flow in it.
The inside area is now pink rather than red from the cut. Do I just monitor it and see how it does?
If it keeps popping back out I would myself do like I did and cut any part that is not perfectly normal off. This is just what I did and it worked perfectly. I am not telling you to do that but I myself would have never left anything that was not perfect skin on my drake. I never once had anything pop back out by taking off what I did. Good luck with your decision.

Howard is doing great! He got the cut on Saturday. It winked out again at me this morning but it was only the tip which was perfectly sealed, healed and looking perfectly normal. So big relief! I was a little concerned that maybe I didn't take enough off. I had images of septicemia and other horrific possibilities dancing through my head but no, he's doing great, I tucked the little tip back in and told him to keep his peter in his pocket.
Thank you everyone for advice prayers and general moral support.
You have no idea what it means to me! You are all the very, very best!! I appreciate you guys!:love:love:love

I've been following along to learn.

I'm so glad to hear Howard is doing so much better!

Do you have a photo of Howard, we'd love to see him.
