Came home to find what looked like poop stuck to my ducks bottom. I dunked her bottom in the pool to dislodge it, but it wouldn’t budge and I noticed that there was part of her insides sticking out and stuck to it as well. The water wasn’t doing a thing, so I tried to get it with my hands and it’s definitely not poop but smells awful. She is two years old and hasn’t laid an egg all year. Could it be a rotten egg?

Is vet care an option?

Is she able to poop?

If the dried material is not poop, then it's likely dried necrotic tissue. I don't have Ducks, but if it were a chicken hen of mine, I'd put her down.

@Miss Lydia @HollowOfWisps or @shawluvsbirds may have some other suggestions.

@DuckDuckAmy what have you done so far? let her soak in nice warm water to clean it up. Then apply something like KY jelly to keep it moist . After you let her soak to clean the prolapse really good take a few more pictures so we can see it after cleaning.
