Towards the end of may my kikiriki hen layed a soft egg. I gave her a layer feed that was “boosted” on oyster shells and vitamins to promote stronger eggs. She didn’t lay again till 4 days. The egg was rubbery this time but she suffered a “blowout” I read forums on here and seen sugar , honey, and prep h should work. I did a routine of applying one of each per day. It’s been 3 weeks and although it has shrunk she still pushes the tissue out. Do yall think it’s time to end the suffering or is there anything else I could do. She’s still full of energy. I just started giving .03 of calcium glucose liquid today to see if it’ll do any good.

Welcome To BYC

Can you post photos of her and her prolapse?

If you are just now starting extra Calcium I would give it time to work and see if it helps.

How much does she weigh?

Isn't she just a little cutie!

If you have 23% Calcium Gluconate, increase the dose to 0.15mg once daily for 5-7 days.
The calcium can help with contractions and retention.

Keep the tissued coated with oil (coconut oil, mineral oil, etc.), an anti-inflammatory cream/ointment, organic honey or other type of ointment that will keep the tissue coated so it does not dry out.

Hopefully the tissue will shrink and she'll be able to retain it. She may have another egg that she's trying to expel first, so the calcium may help with that too.

Keep her hydrated and eating.
