My Silkie has a prolapsed oviduct which I have been treating for 3 days now, by all the remedies that I have read on this site. I have been bathing the Cloaca area and then applying oils, petroleum jelly, the works. However, there is this white, hard, chalky mass still stuck to the cloaca/vent area that just won't dissolve or soften up and therefore I can't push the oviduct back inside. What can I dissolve this 'concrete' stuff off of her?

Other wise she is doing well, I've got her on a light diet, feeding her a lot of healing herbs and indoors away from the other Silkies.

you may want to try putting sugar, honey or prep H on the tissue, it helps to bring down the inflammation so the tissue can go back in, the oils will keep the tissue moist, which is good, but not sure if they would help with the swelling. not sure about the white stuff, maybe a bath would help

Thanks, I have been bathing her and I am putting honey on her vent. Just have to keep her off of it.
