patient = a 5 week old columbian wyandotte.
treating for 2 weeks

treating for what i think is a prolapsed vent ..i have seen many pictures and it looks alot like it ..
treating with witch hassle and prep-H and dbl antibiotic ointment..cleaning area with witch hassle and then applying the salves..pushing the prolapse back in with my finger ..
it looks better when she is not pooping but it protrudes about a inch when she releaves her self ..she crys out but not as much as she did when i first noticed it ..it looks better but it is still coming out and hurting her a little when she poops and i it looks like it is ok when shes not ..she acts ok , she's getting feathers and eating and drinking ..no ones picking on her ..i started grit and the amount of time it takes for her to poop and have the poop actully fall off seems shorter..she still picks at it when its hanging there ..but it seems to be a shorter amount of time that it does now ..

my question is does this sound normal and does recovery take along time ..or is this not a prolapsed vent and i am treating something else ..sorry i have no pics now but will try to get some ..it does seem to be helping what i do ,,because it was real bad at first..she seems ok only when she poops is when she crys out ..but like i said sher seems much better ..

am i doing something wrong or should i be feeding her something diffrent..i thought about it but wasnt sure and didsnt want to cause more trouble ..

any help i would be greastful and i no she would to ..thanks ..
