Prolapsed vent? Vent gleet? Helppp!

My hen laid an egg with no shell yesterday. She also pooped out something attached to her about 2.5 inches long that can rool out like a scroll. I put it back in after i lubricated it with. Vaseline, then in the middle of te night she pooped it out again. Yesterday she tried to poop it out constantly and today it doesnt seem to bother her. What is it? What shood i do? There is white stuff around it but no feathers missing and before this her poop was really runny and clear with a little bit of solid stuff. Please help!

Pictures would help a lot. A vent prolapse is red internal tissue coming outside from the cloaca (where the large intestine and oviduct come together) and it may help to use some honey or hemorrhoid cream to shrink any swelling. Keep pushing it back inside and holding it there for a few minutes. Straining, laying eggs, and passing droppings may make it come back outside again. Don't let the red tissue dry out since it can die. Here is some information to read while we wait on pictures:

Its not red. It is the color of her skin. Thats why i was thinking its something else.

Somebody please help! I just pushed back in and it stayed in until she pooped again. She squaks when she poops until it comes out. It is like an off white color, really skinny, and rolls like a scroll vertically. I dont know what to do! Could she be stressed from the flood and its nothing to worry about?

@Eggcessive has given you some good advice. Photos will be very helpful.

The "off white" color thing that keeps coming out - is it a soft egg shell?

Give her a good soak in a warm bath with epsom salts in it. See if the white thing will come loose.
