We just found out tonight that our DD's are attending school in one of the new Promise Zones in West Michigan. Oh, My, God.

One will have attended since Kindergarten, and the other since Preschool. If it follows along the lines of the Kalamazoo promise, it basically means that so long as they stay in their school districts and graduate high school there, they are guaranteed a 4 year college degree. I don't know all of the details yet though.
I am relieved, excited and praising God right now. I didn't get a chance to attend college and always wanted my girls to go. Never knew how we'd pay for it though. It's been a struggle out where we're at what with the cost of propane, gas and groceries. Whoever says living in the country is cheaper than the city is plain nuts. After the first year and a half out here I was ready to call it quits and move back to the burbs. So glad we didn't. We would have missed out on the Promise Zones. Not to mention I never would have had a chance to raise chickens.
