Proper feeding of guineas

I've had guineas for about 3 years now. Currently I have one guinea I've had for over a year and two new guineas to replace a lost boyfriend. Since the new guinea hen laid an egg last night (her first night here) and my other guineas have never laid an egg that I know of, I'm now questioning whether I've been feeding them properly. They've always been healthy and of good size (and they look plump although they don't let me handle them to know for sure) so I assumed I was doing something right. Basically they get cracked corn, BOSS and scratch ... and that's it since everyone is free range and I abhor the smell of poo when I tried the commercial starter and layer feeds. So, should I be supplementing their diet with something in particular?
