Proper treats for chicks and grit

I am a newbie and have a young flock of 13 chicks. (ages a week to 4 weeks old). What are proper treats for young chicks? Is grit essential?

If you are giving treats, grit is essential! Good treats would be boiled or scrambled egg or meal worms.both are high in protein like their feed. After 6 weeks, you can give greens cut small, fruit like watermelon and cantaloupe, even strawberries and banana. As chicks get older they will like more and more different kinds of fruits, veggies and grains. Happy chickening!
