Pros and cons for two breeds

Hi, I am going to a feed store for the chick day tomorrow, and I'm not sure whether to get two light brahmas, or one light brahma and one columbian wyandotte. What are the pros and cons of each breed?

Unless you're adding to a brooder that already has chicks I'd get 3 : D It just tends to work better, in case of roosters, illnesses, a bad attitude chicken, etc, plus they really enjoy eachother company! Brahmas are bigger, both have small combs (good if you live somewhere that they could get frostbitten) both tend to be fairly docile, and both have basically the same coloration (columbian). Wyandottes have sort of that 'heart shape' or 'tea pot shape' which I personally love, and Brahmas have feathered feet (which can get muddy or messy, but not too bad). I'd personally get one of each, and then a third chick : D

Brahma pros:
They are docile and friendly towards people and chickens, and can fit in with any flock. Even thought they are docile, most chickens won't attack them because of their large size. Some are known to good layers. They are cold hardy.

Brahma cons:
They eat a lot of feed because of their large size. Some are not the greatest layers. They have thick feathered feed, and will get mud and snow trapped in their feathers if you live in a wet or snowy climate. They mature very slowly, and start laying at around 6-10 months instead of 5-7 like other breeds. They are not heat hardy.

Wyandotte pros:
They are cold hardy, but also handle heat well. They are good layers, around 4-5 eggs a week. They have clean legs. Some are friendly towards people.

Wyandotte cons:
They can be aggressive towards other chickens (one of the most aggressive breeds, in my experience).

I'd vote get one of each to find out which one you like better.

Okay thank you. I already have to two week old chicks in a brooder, but I have a separate brooder until they are done quarentining and are a bit older.
