Pros and cons of where you live?

California, I specifically live in the Southern California mountains…

Pros
- The weather and sunshine (except this once in 40 year snow storm that’s here now lol)
- The mountains where I am are more rural and not crowded at all unlike the cities
- I can still get to the desert in 40 min, and the coast in an hour and a half
- California really does have absolutely gorgeous natural landscapes and places to hike
- Yummy food from different cultures (best Mexican food too)
- Dry heat (hate humidity)
- Long growing seasons
- No tornadoes or hurricanes
- Love the art community here
- Love the less crowded beaches

Cons:
- More expensive than most other states
- Too many people
- Lots of people think of Southern California as just LA
- Specific to the mountains, but the city tourists are annoying that don’t know how to respect nature and the animals
- Horrible freeways with way too much traffic
- Taxes
- People who don’t know how to drive (thinking stop signs and red lights are a suggestion)
- Wildfire risk is high

Raleigh, North Carolina

Pros
-easy to get anywhere. Stores nearby, mountains and beach only 3ish hours away. Easy enough to travel to other states
-overall, mild climate. Long growing season, and no major droughts, tornadoes, blizzards, or hail (we do get floods). Extreme heat is relatively uncommon
-good variety of wildlife and natural scenery
-pine trees (Commonplace to us, but apparently unusual to west-coasters)
-plenty of (man-made) lakes, a good park and recreation system
-a pretty even mix of political opinions if that’s something that you care about
-access to fresh, local veggies and seafood for most of the year. I love to visit the farmer’s market
-stable economy with lots of job opportunities

Cons
-humid heat
-wide variety of copious bugs, poisonous snakes
-very fast growing area, so lots of traffic everywhere
-no real big cites
-hurricanes (not that bad this far inland but still a concern)
-a lot of big-city transplants (And they are all rude)
-our libraries are terrible , and it’s hard to get a driver’s license
-HOA’s (you have to move out into the country if you want to avoid them)
-it’s hard to get direct flights to places because all of our airports are small
- pine trees  (we’re called the”city of oaks” but…that’s not really true)
-still “city” enough to have crime. You wouldn’t leave your doors unlocked
