Pros and cons of where you live?

Florida. Pretty big and diverse state so I'll just speak for my area.

Pro:
Close to the springs
Near each coast
Mild winters (mini ice age to us locals)
The best OJ
Can grow something all year
Probably more

Con:
There is a winter
Long hot humid summers
Mosquitos
The big town is a college town (nicest way to say it)
Probably more

I love Florida, the biggest con for me is the hot humid summers, because im horrible with heat.

SW Lower Michigan.
Pros:
Near enough to a big city for that kind of stuff, but we're out in the boonies.
Not too bad for winter or summer weather (DH disagrees)
Tornados are very rare, straight line winds also rare
Gorgeous fall colors.
Out in the middle of nowhere, it is very quiet.
We have really great neighbors, all 5 houses' worth!
We're on a river and have 25 acres.
I can carry a gun if I want to. (Yes, I have a license, and no I don't want to start a 2nd Amendment argument.)
On a dirt road, there isn't much traffic.
On a dead end road dirt road, there's even less traffic.
Nobody says boo about having chickens, and roosters are welcome too.

Cons:
A trip to the store takes an hour.
If the power is out, it might be out for a few days.
Sometimes our road doesn't get plowed right away, and we can't go anywhere.
My car is always dirty from the dirt road.

Pro about the dirty car:
It's easy to identify! It's the dirty red car. :gig

Except for the lack of wind and the acreage, this could be us in Missouri. :)

I’ve moved around a fair amount in my life, but for where I live now:

Pros: I live in a lovely rural area in the woods. We have land, lots of wildlife, and peace and quiet. I commute 45 minutes to work, but even my commute is peaceful and beautiful. The spring is worth waiting for, and there are only a handful of days that are too hot in the summer.

Cons: The winter is gray and endless. I don’t do well with winter (low mood, zero energy), and at this time of year I feel like I’m barely hanging in there. I also very much miss living by the ocean. Lakes are not the same! When I’m lying by the ocean in the sun, all is right in my world. However, the ocean is now 4.5 hours away. My only option to get to see my family in Maine is to drive (although driving through the mountains is beautiful). Sometimes, it would be nice to just relax as a passenger. However, there is no direct flight or train or bus service to a state that’s so close by! I shouldn’t have to go south to Boston first.

Also, the mosquitos, ticks, and black flies are not ideal. I’m pretty sure that Lyme disease is inevitable when one lives here.

where I live: California

pros: we have In-N-Out, we have people from all around the world (aka cultural diversity), and can’t forget the amazingly boring weather. If you’re tired of snow or intense heat come to California🙂

cons: everything is either illegal or needs a license/permit, we have taxes on most everything, and we are also in a drought that I’m starting to think is permanent. Don’t even get me started on crime/unemployment rate cuz it’s bad
I lived in Cali for 8-ish years (29 Palms, then San Diego). I miss In-N-Out. I miss California Burritos. I miss the beach in San Diego. I miss being a San Diego Zoo member and going to the zoo or Wild Animal Park whenever. I miss the sun. I miss the cool lizards and snakes in the desert. I do not miss the 5 trillion other people. I do not miss the highways. I do not miss the wildfires. I do not miss the coyotes!

I miss the beach in San Diego.
Here ya go. This is Mission down by the roller coaster.
