Hi, I'm Patrick of Birmingham, AL. I've always been interested in raising animals and especially birds, and I want to experiment with raising quail this summer. I am both a fly tyer and an upland enthusiast, so I believe learning how to raise quail would be both a fun summer project and a good chance to both collect some (often very expensive) materials and to train my springer pup. I currently attend college in Miami, FL where I live in a cramped urban dorm but back home I have a big yard with lots more space and freedom to raise animals. I would like to begin raising pheasants or partridges at some point, but that would require the construction of an aviary and flight pen I'm not sure I'm qualified to build. Any advise for raising quail is cherished, and you'll probably see me asking a lot of dumb questions in the "other backyard poultry" section.
