Protein content for Laying Turkeys & Peacocks?

Do Turkeys and Peacocks need a higher protein content than chickens to lay eggs?

I've always feed them the same as my chickens (16% layer pellets), but this year I had to start cutting their feed with cracked corn (

economy). The chickens have started to pick up their laying, but I have only gotten a couple turkey eggs and then nothing, and no peacock eggs yet. Last year they were laying in Feb, but I thought part of that was due to them still be on Tennessee time since we moved in Nov. I was expecting them to start laying by now though.

I'm not totally sure of the age of any of the birds since we bought them full grown. We think the turkeys are about 4 yrs old, and absolutely no clue on the peahens

Am I expecting too much with the extremely cold winter? Any clues on getting them going? Thanks.

For breeding season we use an 18% layer from a local feed mill.

Just off the top of my head I think corn is about 8% protien or so depending on your mix with layer. The feed is now less than 16%, and they aren't going to lay well at all with that. The turkeys should be laying steady now, the peas need warmer temps and lots of sun to lay, ours are just starting in NC.

We can boil back some chicken eggs and feed them to get more protien or feed them a higher protein feed.

Yes I feed a 20 to 24 to both turkey and peafowl.
