protein for chickens to promote laying

have had almost 75 chickens molting for 6 months,read on the forum to push protein, is chicken starter(18%) help their regular food was 16% ,thought I'd give it a try

Protein will help them finish moult, but if you really want them to get going on laying after the moult, supplementing light for a total of 16hrs a day (add in the morning) would probably help the most!
