protein in chicken feed

Hello i have just bought some cornish cross chicks and was wondering if 18%protein starter is enuf protein. Would a 23%be better??

you will be find with 18%. I always use it and still limit feed after 4weeks. No loses.

Thank you. Why do some use higher protein? Will they gro faster?

23% is better. Faster to harvest. Most broiler feeds are north of 20%. I'm using an organic starter broiler and it's 23%

Cool. So should i use 22% or so chick starter up to six weeks then go to something else?

In theory, you can feed starter the whole way. Some people use game bird feed because of the high protein levels.
