I just hatched guinea keets for the first time. Only two have hatched so far... One is fine. The other has two dark reddish purple bulges at his or her vent. There didn't seem to be an unabsorbed yolk, just this. No blood. I have no idea what to do with him? I haven't picked him or her up to inspect, I don't want to open the lid since there are other eggs in there.

I don't know if it matters, but he zipped in an unusual way and I think he was in the egg in an atypical position?

Thanks!

(I decided to post this in the Guineas section, but I have no idea how to delete this one!! Sorry!)

Anyone? He seems to be acting okay, but his rump definitely is NOT okay. I think I'm more worried about him living when he shouldn't than him dying.

I read about somebody gently pressing innards back in? Do you think its his innards? I would think mother nature will do the right thing? Maybe just wait and see? Good Luck!
