Chick is still walking around and chirping. She is not quite dry enough for me to want to take her out. She seems to be doing the same thing that the other chick, who hatched yesterday, is doing. walking around, chirping and sleeping. nothing has changed. The chick seemed to have pooped while in the egg or while trying to get out of the egg. I am having the hubby bring home some Prep H and witch hazel as some of the other threads with this said that might work. I am wondering though, do I try to push the vent back in or just leave it out and put on the Prep H??? My heart is breaking for this little one.
That likely is not the vent. It's probably an unhealed navel, I would leave it alone and see if she absorbs that. I would not push it in.
would taking her out of the incubator to take some photos and putting her back in harm her? I don't want to chill her but I want to figure out what is truly happening so I can help her out.
Won't hurt it..I hatch and put in my Brooder 20 minutes later.

Yolk not fully absorbed. I put them into a margarine container and wait till full absorbed in the incubator.
