Hi,
Our family is now the proud owners of two Australorps that I rescued from a Vivero in the Bronx (have you ever been in one of those places, it'll break your heart). One is now not doing well and I posted a separate note in the Emergencies section for advice. We brought them to CT in the hope of giving them a better life, and hopefully we'll receive a few eggs in return. I am totally excited, I've owned plenty of different animals but never chickens, so I'm busy catching up learning as much as I can and teaching it to my two daughters.
I'm sure I'll be spending plenty of time on here chatting with folks, and I'm looking forward to seeing/sharing lots of great photos, and tips.
