First hatch ever and they are due Saturday. I got home last night (Thursday) and one had started to pip. This morning it was zipped and coming out. It is a day early is that ok and wont that be a long time to stay with no food or water until the rest hatch?

My wife works at a high school and the AG teacher there say to take it out after it dries. I read on BYC not to open at all. He say the humidity will get back right in only minutes and not hurt any thing. He says he takes theirs out all the time. What do you think?

are there any other eggs pipped? if not, i would pull him out. he has a bit to wait before his buddies hatch out. i would put him in the brooder with a stuffed animal for company.

I usually leave the early risers so they can wake up the rest. It will be fine in there for a day or two.

Okay. I just got home from work and this little bird is pecking on everything in the bator and making a heck of a racket. Only one other egg is pipped and that is all. Should I remove it or not? I am feeling sorry for it. What to do???

I remove mine and haad no problem with the other. The humidity went right back up with no issues.

Good luck!

Forgot to mention that mine hatched a day early too!

I have another hatch due Sunday and I heard a chrip this morning! This is so fun!!

What's it hurt to leave it in... I usually leave them in for at least 24 hours. It will be a little cheerleader for the rest & encourage them to pip!
