Providing Laying Feed

Newbie here, how exactly do you offer oyster shell?
Are there other tried and true sources of calcium?
Thanks!

I put it in a dish that clips to the wall to avoid spilling, that's about it. They take what they want when they want it. There are other foods you can offer that are high in calcium but oyster shell is easy and doesn't go bad sitting in the coop so it's always available whenever they need it.

x2 what cafarmgirl said. --- they are called 'cage cups' I think if she uses the same thing. You can get them at my pet chicken and other places on the internet...I haven't seen them all over. Someone has plastic ones in different colors, and some are stainless steel.

You can also crush up egg shells. Often my chooks prefer egg shells to oyster shells. One other thing... I wish I had either drilled some holes in the bottom of the cage cup, or had used something with wire mesh like an old strainer so no moisture would collect in the oyster shells. It starts smelling like the ocean. Which some people love that smell and some hate. I don't know if chickens are in the like or dis like group. LOL.
