Providing water for your duck

i am down to 4 ducks now ( had ten)

i use two kiddie pools (weather permitting..they are put up now)
and rubber buckets in winter

mine like clean water,
dirty water,
mud

leave muck
you name it

today they followed me all over the yard as i carried the water bucket up to the house for the night
i fill it in the morning and put it in their day pens

I was going through some pics and found this one. I think this looks cool because the water was cold, they weather was cold and the ducks were warm. So the water had steam coming up from it. I started laughing and said how cool they made there own hot tub

You mean to tell me that I am the only one on BYC

OK... those were special occasions. ONce they were going to a poultry show and the second time was when Gretchen was going to a preschool with me.

Normally they have a kiddie pool that they refuse to get in if it is dirty. I bought a rubber bucket for this winter for them. It's AWESOME!

these are muscovy ducks

No Wendy, we just had towels ready and planned on being wet!

When the weather warms up, my ducks are going to need the pool filled.. they are so dirty now.

I love the babies in the sink. I did the laundry basket too!
ha.. I have it on youtube!

here are the BIG ducks in the tub,...

here is when they were babies in a laundry basket outside

Right now we are using deep buckets in each pen for the night for the thirteen muscovies. We let them out in the mornings and they go to the plastic kiddie pool. We try to keep water in it for them when it isn't freezing out there. They go to their pens about 4 each afternoon for the night. They have fresh water in those deep buckets then and fresh food, it does freeze during the nights when the temp drops.

i can't see the video's
i'm on dial up so i never get that stuff to load before it times out

i am so sorry as i would have loved to see them

i spend all summer being momma duck

laundry basket to small dog crate
to large dog crate
in and out and in and out
small plant saucer pond up to kiddie pool

when they were big enough
i made a sort of mobile day pen out of dog excersize pens and flight netting

moved every few days

i swear i spent more time with those ducks then with my husband

then everyday i would take them on a long walk

i still do that now with the three girls i kept
