Puffed up feathers, heavy breathing, staying in same spot...

If it's just one chick, I wouldn't worry about it. My chick acted like that for about a week & then I moved them into a larger area with better ventilation & either that did the trick or it just snapped out of whatever it's problem was. It was about 3 weeks old at the time. Maybe check to make sure they're getting enough fresh air & that it's not too dusty. We're on a cattle ranch in South Dakota & the dust really makes our calves sick, but I don't know how it affects chickens because this is the first time I've raised them. They're all doing quite well now so I just hope they can survive this heat!
