Puffy cheek/eye

My sweet Skye is an almost 12 week old ISA Brown girl. Today I noticed that her one cheek/under eye area is puffy. Didn’t notice anything yesterday. The other side looks just fine. Any idea what this might be? She is acting normal. She is the lowest girl on the totem pole so I am wondering/hoping that someone just pecked her and that isn’t an illness.

It might be a peck or possibly a sting. If she has any symptoms, such as watery or foamy eye, nasal drainage, or sneezing, there could be a respiratory sinus infection, such as MG. I would just watch for any other symptoms, and hopefully, it will go away.

Thank you! I have caught them chasing bees during their free range time. I’ll watch & wait for a bit.

If you think it is a sting, you could give 1/2 of a 25 mg benadryl tablet orally just one time.
