Pull out tray coop

We were gifted a small pull out tray (under roosts) coop. Does anyone have this type? Do you use shavings inside the tray? Should it all be scraped out daily? I'm guessing deep litter method doesn't work in a small area and you couldn't pull the tray out. I have two chicks in the brooder still so just trying to work out logistics before they go in there! Thanks

I have a tray in my coop it's not very deep so if you have much pine shavings in there when you change it I have to scoop most of it out before I can remove the tray I change it out about once a month or so
