So I clean house for a living, in a rich part of the city. You know where most people drive mercades, or BMW, or porches..

So for the second time in 3 months, I'm pulled over driving my mini-van..

First time cause my back window was dirty, my mirrors were all clean ect. I told the officer, sorry I live in the country. Things get dirty quick out there,, (I also refuse to pay to wash it) She did not ticket me, but gave me a warning for a dirty rear-veiw window.
Afterwords I spoke with a friend, who is also an officer.. Apparently she can't give me a ticket for that, as my side mirrors are fine and working.. That considering the neighbor hood, she just wanted to check me out.. He said my van could be loaded and no way to see out window, and she couldn't ticket me...

So whatever, fast forward to a few days ago.. Officer pulls me over for my plate being dirty, he said you can still read it. But he couldn't make out validation sticker. (We need those yearly here) He was really nice and understood, said he lives in the country too..
Just to make sure they can read it, gave me a warning.. Thank-fully..

So I was on the same street/intersection both times.. grrr... And even though I'm doing nothing wrong.. I still get nervous,Hands shaking ect.. and would hate for a client to see me..

Feels like I'm being picked on because, I don't drive a fancy car, that I waste $15.00 a week washing it!!

Now I"m afraid to drive down this one street, even though I just got warnings... I know their doing there jobs, and I do look out've place.. but man!!! I already hate driving in the city!!!

*They see me rollin....they hatin....trying to catch me ridin dirty...*

I'd ask next time if they had a problem with driving in that neighborhood with your mini van. I mean, geesh!! Maybe you should put a magnetic sign on your vehicle so they would leave you alone. Hope you don't get pulled again..this would really tick me off!!

Now you got that dang song stuck in my head.......

Not to be disrespectful...but, I live in the country, too...I don't pay for carwashes, well, not very often, and it is amazing what a bucket, some dishsoap and a sponge can do! Then again, I hate dirty windows on my car and my DH would have a fit if the cars weren't clean! I would have to agree with thaiturkey...being a cleaner, I would think that a clean car would go a long way towards getting more business.

This.

My husband does landscape maintenance, and drives a box truck. He has contracts in some of the more prosperous parts of town, and has been checked out several times in one. Knowing how frequently break-ins occur in that particular neighborhood, it's understandable. Hubs actually finds it slightly amusing. He's there regularly, and always at the same places, so it doesn't happen very often, but every once in a while some new guy on the beat will want a closer look.
