Hello, I have a flock of 14 week old barred rocks. When they arrived, they were all the same size and everything seemed great. However I noticed over time that there was a smaller one than the rest, starting at around 10 weeks.

While the rest of the flock grows, this pullet is staying the same, or is growing very minimal. and has been the same for nearly a month. She is eating and drinking normally, however she seems a bit weaker than the rest, or maybe I’m paranoid. She is very friendly because we give her lots of attention.

Another thing that is concerning is that the rest of the flock makes regular chicken noises, while this pullet still cheeps like a baby. I’ve never seen this before. Any ideas?

It happens. Not often but it does, just like every other malady.
I had a batch of meat birds. They were Freedom Rangers. One of the cockerels was quite active and healthy but he was a quarter the size of the other 25 birds by 7 weeks.
Not a real problem since they were all getting processed about that time.
I just wouldn't use any similar bird for breeding.
