If you can, more photos might be helpful. Most beak injuries I've had, I leave them alone. If it's just the top part that's peeled up, there's a quick underneath, that will be extremely tender if exposed. That outer layer will eventually fall off - but again, it's hard to know without seeing the other side.
You don't have to let feed ferment to offer it as a mash - just soak a little feed in warm water for about 1/2 hr and serve - you may need to make it soupier or thicker depending on what she prefers.
How old is the cockerel? I do agree, likely he needs to be culled. If very young, he may grow out of some of that behavior, but if you have others you can pick from, then yes - process him and enjoy.
This sweet lady was one of three I was selling to a local woman who I thought for sure wouldn't want her after this and surprisingly, she still wants her. I would never sell an injured bird so offered to give her to her with the option of bringing her back if it's too much for her to deal with. I had cleaned the area and it was detached a bit on the right side with a tiny crack on top and just one drop of blood. The lady and I thought taping or bandaging it would be best so I'll let her know that's best.
The cockerel is 6 months old and went for her face twice in two days and one other girl's right after. I have 5 boys (two over a year old, him and two babies) so he definitely needs to be culled. I haven't had to do that yet but having only 3 coops, at least 2 boys need to go to freezer camp.
