Pullet coop bottom

Then you need a more serious structure than wire ziptied to PVC. Or some electric poultry netting to create a safe space for a light pen.

Thank you for the pictures and some inspiration! They are almost a month old now. It’s just 3 of them in a pop up tent on my screened back porch. It’s nice out and would rather them spend most of the day outside. I guess I could make a run and just keep bringing them back in at night. It would just be easier to leave them out, but yeah not thinking the PVC frame will work at night.

What about something like this inside the PVC run? I see these and like old rabbit hutches for sale around me. If I could find a good price I could fix it up.

3 Jersey Giants. I am thinking one is a cockerel. They will be 1 month in a couple days.

IIRC, that should mean allowing 2 square feet each in their brooder space so if the rabbit hutch is at least 2x3 it should be good for a while.

I've still got my 8-week-olds sleeping in a large dog crate while DH finishes building the new coop.
