I thought eggs started out whatever color they were going to be... But here's the deal: I have 11 pullets,just 6 months old today. I got my first egg just before they turned five months. I have mostly Dorkings and two Orps. At first I got a mix of brown eggs and tinted white. I have at least five laying, as I have found five eggs in one day. The past few days there haven't been any brown ones. I was getting one or two brown ones each day. Is it just the Orps laying irregularly, or is it possible that the brown eggs were also from the dorkings and the color has changed to white as they mature ? I am guessing it is just the Orps growing up and I will have brown eggs again in due course. Agree, or not...
