One of my pullets was gasping after eating, she kept running from me so I gave her a few minutes and she was still gasping. I felt like she needed to get water so I finally caught her. When I looked in her mouth there was just a glob of food blocking practically everything. I gently massaged her neck to get it out and a 2inch glob of food came out. I looked and there was still more and another one came out about 1in long before I could even see her wind pipe and throat. I helped her get some water, but she was freaking out so I let her go once she stopped seeming like she was choking. I am going out to check on her again. If the behavior continues is this crop impaction? I'm really worried but I hope I didn't do the wrong thing by pushing the food out from her throat. Advice?

What are you feeding her? Do you have feed and grit always available? Can you check her crop in her right chest in the early morning before she has eaten or drunk anything, to see if her crop is empty and flat, or if it is full, hard, or puffy?

All flock crumbles, feed and grit is always available but this girl is new so maybe she hasn't figured out where the grit is?? I'll add some to their food and more around the run. I'll try to check her tomorrow morning. When I was trying to get her water and check her mouth her crop was full, not completely hard, but pretty firm.
I checked on her a minute ago and she doesn't seem to be gasping anymore but she is under the coop and wants nothing to do with me as usual haha
