If she's sitting next to you like that I doubt she's afraid of you she's trying to dominate you. I've had a few hens like that and I just take my finger and peck her back on top of her head.Sometimes one good peck is all that's needed and they get the message but I did have one girl a RIR that we ended up having about a week long peck fest till she learned that I am higher on the pecking order than she was. Never let them get the last peck if they do they win. This will not make her afraid of you just show a little respect.The top hens aren't mean and nasty they just don't put up with anything from the lower girls.
