Pullet is laying 2 eggs in same sitting UPDATE page 4 Now Lethargic

I had a RIR who did that regularly. She was my favorite bird, very personable and always greeted me and wanted cuddles. It was just so taxing on her to lay multiple eggs at a time that it severely shortened her lifespan; she died as a two year-old bird. I just found her on the nestbox dead one day. It's unfortunate but there's not much you can do to prevent reproductive malfunctions, all you can do is just try to supplementally support their egg laying and hope that it's a temporary problem while they're working out the kinks in laying eggs.
I am sorry for your loss!

She's acting normally. Eating, drinking, grooming, etc. Her vent looks fine. Her poo looks fine. The cockerel mated with her while I was there observing but she squatted for him and he wasn't rough. He's got plenty of other ladies he's satisfying too so he doesn't always go to her.

Hopefully this was just a fluke. Both eggs were over 50g. Ouch.

It is normal that a pullet can lay 2 eggs in a day. They can also lay double yolk.

They sometimes lay 2 eggs in a day, double yolks, and tiny little eggs. Not unusual at all.
Thank you! This made me feel better. I knew about the double yolks and fairy eggs but had no clue they were capable of 2 fully formed eggs at once. I'll keep an eye on her.

I don’t know about the “exact” same time. And, I’m assuming by exact you mean one right after the other. But, definitely, in a 24 hour period. And, I’m not saying it is a regular thing. But, I think it is just about as regular as a double yolk when they are pullets.

It could be also that some breeds do it more than others.

Double yolks are rather common and are encapsulated in the same membrane and shell.

It takes ~20 hours for an egg to be shelled.
It's well explained in this excellent video, which is worth watching regardless:
