I made the mistake of feeding my 21 chickens a few green onion ends last night. This morning at 10am I discovered that my 2, 14 week old Sapphire Splashes, Nebraska and Paintbank, were in the coop, nestled in with eyes closed like they were asleep and this afternoon, while Nebraska seems to have recovered because she has left the coop with the others, Paintbank is still standing/ sitting in the coop with eyes halfway closed. Do you think these symptoms are a result of eating the onions? If so, what can I do for her?

I do not think the onion would cause such a severe reaction if fed in a small quantity. This may be some other issue, can you provide more information on her symptoms?
Hmmm. She looks like she is ready to head outside now, so I guess she's feeling better. So green onions are actually okay for them to eat?

No, onions should be avoided since they can be toxic in large quantities. Glad they are feeling better. Keep an eye on behavior, if they are eating and drinking, and note any abnormal droppings.
