Pullet laid a soft egg and 4 days later no more eggs?

I found the other pullets eating it, otherwise I would have never known someone laid an egg! I’ve raised them from a few days old so I’m so excited someone started laying but is it normal for days in between when they begin laying? I have an idea who it might be, one is 4 weeks older than the others, but all of them are acting normal and happy.

Since she started laying she needs layena type of laying food and oyster shell grit. It’ll give her the nourishment she needs for hard eggs so she doesn’t get egg-bound (egg stuck in her she can’t get out). Can you update with the breed of chicken please? The breed of chicken is dependent on if she lays daily/almost daily/once in a while.

yes it can happen. She'll get the hang of it soon. The eggs will get bigger over time as well.

Since she has many that are younger she should continue to feed chick starter/grower and provide oyster shell on the side. The younger ones don’t need the calcium yet, and they all need the higher protein since they are still growing.

Thank you! I have polish hens, and two silkies, as I’ve read the polish tend to mature faster than silkies. So I’m pretty positive it was my oldest polish pullet Muffin

Oh my goodness! They are so adorable!! I finally have 2 polish and 2 silkie chicks and I’m so excited to watch them grow as I just picked them up yesterday!
