First time chicken Mom here. One of my ten(ish) week old Americauna pullets is acting strange. She’s laying on her side and is walking in a slightly jerky fashion. I checked her leg and didn’t see an injury. We just switched them off the medicated chick feed. Should I be concerned? Thoughts on what else to look for? She is eating and drinking and is otherwise alert.

No other symptoms? Sometimes my hens lay on their side, but it's normal for them, especially in the hot months. Is she pooping normally?

Can you post some photos of your chick and her poop.
What type of feed did you switch too?

Walking in a jerky fashion sounds neurological - if you have a video of how she is walking that would be good. (upload videos to youtube, then provide us a link)

I would make sure she is drinking and eating. Provide her with some poultry vitamins that contain Vitamin E, B1(Thiamine), B2(Riboflavin) and give her a little egg for Selenium.

Look forward to your photos and more information.

Pooping frequently and more liquid than I think is typical. But its hard to tell. No blood in the stool that I can see. She seems to be walking a little funny - almost like she's a bit dizzy. Then, she returns to normal.

I'll try to get a video in a bit. We just switch to Purina Starter-Grower feed. It was the only thing available at our local store.
