i have a banty cochin pullet named fajita. she laid her first egg last week and within her first week of laying she laid 5 eggs. one day, she laid 2. i looked up what cochins were supposed to lay and they are only supposed to lay 2 a week? last week she laid 5, with 2 in one day(which was her first week ever of laying) this week, starting sunday, shes laid an egg a day. meaning i have 4 (so far). i know that after molt, chickens lay eggs much better - but she is already outdoing her self. should i be worried?

She must just be a fast starter. It is normal for chickens to lay one egg every 24-36 hours so I wouldn't be worried. You're lucky! I bet that double egg in a day was a mistake on her insides. :p

5! now it is 5! i would say hopefully she takes a break - but this is kinda fun to see how far she will/can go!
