Pullet limping

Get it at the health food store. It comes in a dropper vial 30 ppm (parts per million). This stuff is so helpful. Don't let the naysayers discourage you. I've gotten PM's from readers of this site who'd tried it and found it to be a cure for Mareks. They were jubilant that their chickens could walk again.

It's worth it to me to try the colloidal silver. So it will take a couple weeks for it to pass to other chicks if it is indeed mareks? I will keep my eyes out for it. I should separate this limping chick. How fast does mareks progress into crippling the chick to where it can't stand?

If it's Marek's it can effect them from 6-20 weeks, most common, but also outside of that time span. Some of mine that got it just wasted away, and it took weeks to months with no paralysis. Some got the paralysis right away and kept their appetite. Some got both. The problem with Marek's is that it can display alot of different symptoms aside from paralysis. Paralysis being the most known, but not always there. It depends on what the nasty virus attacks ; nerves, which nerves, organs, digestive system, etc. The only way to know for sure is by necropsy performed by a lab that knows what they're doing.

I'm not disuading anyone from trying holistic measures. I am just passing on information that is available from researchers, and those scientists that only deal with poultry diseases. I work at keeping up with recent material. I hope one day that would include holistic methods.

As I mentioned in my re-post, another started limping a week or two after my first one was cured. I gave her one half a dropperful and she began walking regularly again.

Seminolewind, I find your negativity to be sad and your information misleading. This is not a "holistic" product. It's a colloidal of silver. Silver's antiseptic qualities are becoming well known in this era. There are even BandAids sold now that have silver infused in them. The elite's use of silver has been said to have saved them from the Black Plague in the Middle Ages because they ate from real silverware and drank from silver goblets. Cowboys in the Old West used to put a silver coin in their water pouch, to purify it.

Open your mind to something outside of your "scientific" community. There are natural remedies all around us.

My mistake. Colloidal silver is NOT holistic. I should not have used a generalization.

I am not negative, sad, or misleading. I don't attack other people's opinions either, like some people do. And I always reiterate that it's IMO. I am well aware of the history of silver. And I DO like scientific data resulting from research.

I have decided to try the colloidal silver first as Lady Badlands suggested. I just can't find it anywhere! I tried to get it on my way home from work yesterday and all my options were already closed.

I plan to get some today or tomorrow, but so far I haven't done anything with her, just watching her closely. No change from yesterday and day before, with maybe a slight improvement. I'll keep y'all posted after I use the CS in case this information helps anyone else out.

Lady Badlands, ever used CS for CRD (MG)?

colloidal silver is great to keep on hand for family and pets also. google it and you will find many uses and studies
for the price of a small bottle (about $20) which could last a long time or could be gone quickly it seems worth it to purchase a generator

this website has some small CS generators for $50-$75 which will last you a very long time. I have been saving up to purchase one myself.
BaGawk, I hope your girl gets better soon!

Finally I got some c. silver. Gave her a dropper full tonight (well, as much as the dropper would suck up which isn't the whole length of it). Up until now I've also been giving her a few drops x2 day of polyvisol w/o iron, supplementing her feed w/chick crumbles which I believe are higher in protein, and scrambled eggs. But haven't seem an improvement. No worse, no better.

Lady Badlands, i have some Q's for you: did you know to give a 2nd dose bc her symptoms hadn't cleared up yet? Or did you do it regardless? Did she improve at all after the first dose? How long after the 2nd dose was she cured? Is there anything else in addition to above I should be doing?

Ugh, I'm chomping at the bit to see how this turns out! Poor girl.

ETA: forgot to mention that I also sprayed her w/oxine diluted in water while ruffling her feathers. It's warm out tonight so no worries of her freezing. I read mareks is spread to others from the dander the infected ones shed. Thought the oxine could help with that. Thoughts?

Well my girl Esmerelda is still limping or walking all unbalanced. It hasnt improved or gotten worse. Ive been treating her w/hypericum following all the guidelines such as not touching it with bare hands, mixing it w/distilled water. I also gave her 1 or 2 doses of colloidal silver a couple days apart. Kind of spit-balling....but tonight I found definite lice and possible mites. Could an unbalanced gait be caused by this? It has now been about 3 wks since her symptoms started. No one else has any similar symptoms except my silkie pullet, she has started to stumble a bit while walking. Also found lice and/or mites on her.

Just wondering if mites/lice could cause this?
