Pullet nasty to chicks

I've also heard that having drakes around hens is lethal when, not if, they try to breed them.

Edit: Chicken hens to be more specific
Oh gosh, I didn't know they would do that. My neighbor has a ton of chickens, and she used to have 6 ducks. Only one drake. I don't think he ever tried to mess with the chicken hens. But he also had his faithful ladies that followed him everywhere he went.

That is definitely good information to know if I decide get some one day

I don't know if that information is correct, it's just what I was told.
Here's a bit of reading on the subject of a drakes genitalia if you're curious: https://www.sciencefocus.com/nature/duck-penis-corkscrew

I have a batch of 26 chicks I've been trying to integrate for over a month, they are now 7 and 8 week olds. After the first two weeks most of the flock has left the chicks alone unless they stuck their heads in the same pile of feed or treats. I'm using the same method that I used the last time which worked wonders, here's the link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/integration-phase-one-complete-whats-next.1661723/

This time I have one low ranking pullet that, regardless of what food is on offer will relentlessly chase and attempt to corner the chicks. I'm always standing guard so she gets a shove with the shrub rake, but doesn't care, she continues to chase the chicks. When she gets the chicks riled up the other pullets will join in the chase.

The last two times I separated her while working on integration. The other chickens left the chicks alone unless they got under foot or tried eating from the same pile of food, they only give them a peck and chase them off, but they don't pursue them.

I think I already know the answer but I figured I'd ask just in case anyone has suggestions on what to do. I thought about selling her, or even giving her away, but I wouldn't want to off load my problems on someone else. She's a nearly 5 month old

Cull the overly aggressive young lady. Her behavior isn’t something you want to encourage the others to aspire to.

This is the issue with this particular pullet she doesn't just chase them off, she chases them down. Once the chicks are running and pleading for their little lives it gets the other pullets riled up and they'll be 2 or 3 older birds chasing them around.

I'll pen her for the next few days while the chicks learn their way around. Hopefully once the others are use to the chicks they won't join in when/if she starts chasing them. :fl
I usually pen the bully chicken in a single cage up on legs high enough that the other chickens can run under and around. For some reason it gives confidence to the "lower on the pecking order". 🤷‍♀️ I use the same cage when stopping the broody hens.

I don't know, maybe Cochins are easier?
