Saddles reason for full body. Only found in a rooster. (Except sebrights)
I could tell from pic 1 it was a hen. Her comb is tiny and black.

thanks this helped alot! afraid to say im not up on my chicken anatomy lol! im so glad she is a she! ive been looking forward to eggs for 18weeks!
 
these silkieXpolish are 22weeks this weekend anyone know when i should expect eggs with the girls getting ready? they have started bawking about 6:45 every morning! and will large plastic easter eggs work in the nest? sorry random ramblings! thanks!

I would expect eggs very soon! I like to put golf balls in the nesting boxes because they can't be knocked out. :)

I agree; most pullets begin laying from 20-25 weeks, an occasional one a little later, so you should be getting eggs before long.
