Hmmmm....I could go either way. I'm inclined to say pullets...but I have a couple of things that hold me back.
Their combs are not really big like a rooster, and they are 5 months old.
I am seeing some feathers in the saddle area that could be the beginning of a saddle if they are slowly developing males.
However, they are not true saddles at this time... .and ETA they don't have dark blue blocks on their wing bows which would indicate roo.
Orps can be frustrating. Sometimes the males mature so slowly they surprise you.
I'd watch another month. By then they'll lay or crow. (A lot of help I am huh).
Don't worry about snotty behavior in pullets. I've had plenty that chest bump each other as young pullets.
So hopefully they'll simply finish out as pullets. Those combs are pink, and at 5 months, they should be about to lay...you are going into spring time there down under, so should have plenty of light to kick in their hormones.
If they are 5 months I would lean towards pullets. But just so you know i have a lavender Orpington that is also 5 months and had only just the last 2 weeks started looking like a too, and he doesn't crow yet.
So if you think they might possibly be roos you need to wait it out untill you can 100% confirm... in my case I'm going for a roo but either would be fine
