Pullet or Cockerel

Was afraid of that. Got 7 “pullets” in June (not straight run) from Ideal Poultry. Turns out now that this is the 3rd roo out of 7. Very disappointing, and they didn’t seem to care. I will never buy from them again. Thanks for the replies.

Same for me. I purchased 7 Brabanter "pullets" from Ideal Poultry and at 7-8 weeks I was pretty sure 1 was a cockerel because of the developing red comb, sold him with 1 of the females. At 10 weeks old another one started developing a red comb, and now at 11 weeks 1 more looks like it might also be male. I won't bother contacting Ideal Poultry about getting the 3 cockerels instead of pullets, the price difference is very small, and I got the impression that they don't have very good customer service. Since I also bought 47 assorted, straight run bantams from them, of which approximately 50% turned out to be male, and I've only been able to sell 7 of them, I'm now stuck with 20 cockerels I need to find homes for.
