10-12-ish weeks old I believe...maybe Easter egger?... worrying as I get more attached since I’ve had this happen before where the bird turned out to be a cockerel and had to scramble to rehome. Hoping we get lucky this time with a pullet

Ok wonderful thank you! I’m fairly inexperienced but I thought the hackle feathers were looking pretty pointy and the tail curling under a bit could’ve been signs, no?

I see what you mean. However, there are no real saddle feathers showing, but if 10 weeks old maybe they aren’t apparent yet if this one is actually male. By 12 weeks or so, saddle feathers should be apparent. The comb does not have anything suspicious about it...not much color or size to indicate a male. The neck feathers are slightly rounded and not quite as pointy as male feathers. Hopefully we are right and this one is female!

Looks like a pullet. The hackle feathers look pointed but that is because of the coloring, they are rounded. It is not uncommon for a pullets tail feathers to curve like that but they are then molted to normal tail feathers. Your birds saddle feathers are rounded and if it was a cockerel you'd be seeing the start of pointed saddle feathers. Also the comb is small and pale in color. Everything is pointing to a pullet right now.
