This is Sunny, he/she is an EE around 8/9 weeks old. Is Sunny a cockerel??

Disagree. That looks like a cockerel to me. I've seen those reds spots on the shoulders on almost all my EE boys, but never on any girls. The comb is a little small/not red for a boy that age though. Also he/she doesn't have any wattles, which I would expect in a boy that age. Still, based on feathers I'd lean towards it being a boy.

I realize others have said female, but I think my word is worth something, as I have done research on EEs.
The red on the wings + patchieness: clear cockerel trait. These EEs are similar colors, but there are red flecks and black patches on the EE roo.

Hen: very even, no patches, no popping comb.

The comb: I do realize that the comb on this bird isn’t red, but it is certainly large. It will take time to turn red.
Hope this helps.

I saved this because I was confused people were saying girl.
Yes the comb is pink, but I did notice the red patches and with him being only 8/9 weeks, the comb has plenty of time to develop.
