Pullet or cockerel?

I’m leaning towards cockerel but I really want cuckoo marans eggs.

He’s so very gentle though

I would say pullet. Marans often get their combs in early. I fell she would already have male tail feathers if she was a he.

I think female. I don't see any male feathers.

I’d say cockerel. That looks like double barring to me, which comes from males having two barring genes. Females only have one of these genes and are therefore much darker than males.

Edit: Wanted to say that male specific feathers at the hackles and saddles don’t usually show up until 12-15 weeks.
